This book is fashioned after the children’s book that I loved and admired for years. I was so sad thinking of all that the Padavano sisters: Julia, Sylvie, Emmeline, and Cecelia had to go through throughout their lives. I could relate to this story in so many ways such as: family; Roman Catholicism; and each of the sisters’ traits and characteristics. There was sibling joy, laughter, sadness, and togetherness it made me think of my own brother and sisters.

I recommend this deep, heartfelt read to all who would love a family-oriented book for this holiday season. It is so dear and so moving it deserves a place on your lap, next to your Christmas tree, warm and tender.
