Summary:
This is simply a love story about a close-knit rural family in Saskatchewan, Canada who must learn to live with two very devastating realities: 1) terminal cancer and 2) the upcoming apocalypse. Main character: Nora Jorgensen, trapped in Berlin (Germany), has no clue whether she will get home to her Canadian family in time before the world ends.
.
Her father, prophetic Marlen, is the one diagnosed with terminal cancer and his days are numbered. Her aunt and uncle, Irene and Hank, are frantic about locating their runaway teenage son, Ole. And her maternal grandpa, Iver, orders last minute gifts for his loved ones, only to discover that their vendors have all closed business due to the imminent worldwide calamity.

Reaction:
First of all, this book was very readable and familiar. (Familiar in the sense that it reminded me of the Covid-19 lockdown of the early 2020’s.) The author did a good job of keeping me engaged throughout because the subject is something my Spiritual side is fascinated with. However, there is no affiliation with any particular religion as it is solely scientific based.

Some themes this gem comes with include family bonding; the holiday season; coping mechanisms; and friendships. I greatly recommend it to those who love a combo of romance and speculative fiction. I really enjoyed the ending and am positive that you will too. Cheers!
