Review
I gave this beauty all 5 stars on Goodreads and bought its eBook version from Amazon just because it warmed my heart. Also, its setting is in Baltimore, a nearby city in my state of Maryland. I am a sucker for familial stories as this and I recommend it as a comforting read for its themes of family loyalty and spirituality. Hats off to Anne Tyler for her beautiful mind and talent. This is my introductory novel to Ms. Tyler’s acclaimed bibliography and it did not disappoint.
As a final note, there was a Hallmark film adaptation of this book back in 1998 starring Blythe Danner and Thomas McCarthy. Check it out on YouTube. Good day, Folks!
